Thanks for being with us for another great year of half-price camping and fun! We�re spending this summer and fall on the road, and on the phones - adding 300 new quality RV parks to our half-price camping program. Happies on the Road...

You may not know this, but our �Happy Camper� logo man is real. His real name is �Camp Happy.� He is about 2 feet tall, has arms and legs, and fits nicely into a suitcase. He loves camping, and he is a friendly fellow to meet on the road... full of information on how to save money at Happy Camper RV parks. Actually, he has become so popular, we had to hire three body-doubles to attend events and appear on his behalf when his calendar is full...

But we�re having a little problem with the new stand-in Happy Campers. There are three of them, and they are full of mischief, and love to travel. Right now, they are not traveling, and are causing some trouble at the office. You can read all about this situation on our blog at RVScrapbook.com, but take my word for it - they need to hit the road!

Earlier this summer, I sent them off to Grammy�s. When my kids get restless in the summer, that�s where they go, so I thought it would be a nice visit for the Happy Campers, too. It�s not working out. My mother is sending them back to me (and paying their bus fare, too) - and she has a suggestion. She reminds me, �Remember the lawn gnomes?�

I do remember the lawn gnomes. People were kidnapping them and taking them on trips, then returning them later with souvenirs, stickers, and fun things they found on their trips. Mom says, �Why don�t you let some of your members take these guys on the road?� She is so enthused about getting them out of her house. They eat too much, they are messy, and one keeps getting late fees at the video store. Another caught a turtle and is keeping it as a pet in her bath tub, so she�s now worried about salmonella.

So... I have no choice but to appeal to YOU, our members. PLEASE take one of these guys on your next trip. We will even pay your camp site fees for the whole month if you do. We really will.

There are only a few catches. These guys have responsibilities. They are spokespeople for our company, so they only stay at Happy Camper parks. If you want to take one of them with you, he requires lots of entertainment, so we�ll have to approve his trips. Call us or write us to tell us where you will take him, and what he will be doing. Our �happies� always record their trips online as they travel, sharing information about the parks they visit; so you will have to make sure they check in once a week at the web site to post their new pictures and news.
