WHY STAY AT WAL-MART? When traveling between destinations an overnight stop in a campground can be quite expensive, when all you need is a place to park while you have dinner and sleep. You don't use their water, dump station, or other amenities. You may not even use their electricity, but you do pay for it.
Wal-Mart corporate policy is to allow RVs to park overnight in their parking lots. This works well for the RVers and Wal-Mart. The RVers get a monitored (cameras or security guard watching the parking lot) place to park, and Wal-Mart gets the RVers business.
Remember, the Wal-Mart corporate policy is to allow RVs to park overnight in their parking lots, but the final decision is with the individual Wal-Mart or Sam's Club store manager so it's important to ask before you bed down for the night. Also some municipalities have made overnight parking illegal. Generally the stores in these areas have signs posted in the parking lot stating this.
