The digital Escapees magazine is an Adobe Acrobat .pdf file. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required in order to open and navigate in the digital magazine. Instructions for downloading a FREE copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader are on the magazine download page.

Navigating the digital magazine

Once you’ve downloaded the magazine, open the file and page down or scroll to the CONTENTS page. Use your mouse to click on the title of any staff column, feature, department, or club extras column and you’ll “jump” straight to that page. Returning to the contents page is easy. Each page of the digital magazine has a “CONTENTS” button at the bottom. Just click the button to return to the contents page.

• Bookmarks The Adobe Acrobat screen has a bookmark tab to the left of the page. If you click on that, you’ll see content grouped by the appropriate sections -- advertising, club extras, departments, features, and staff. Click on the plus sign before the section title to see the sub-pages within each bookmark (in alphabetical order by title).

• Websites, Forms, and E-mail Addresses If there are any Internet addresses or e-mail addresses within the editorial content of the magazine, these are also linked. To check for a link, move your cursor to the address; if the cursor changes to a pointing fist, the item is linked. One click will take you to the linked page. You can click on any Escapees form and the form will appear on your computer screen. Once the form is on your screen, you can save it or print it.

• Advertising The “Advertiser’s Index” is the first listing under “Departments” on the CONTENTS page. Click on the advertiser’s name and you will be taken to the ad for that advertiser. If the cursor is a pointing fist, when it is on/over the ad, you can click on the ad and go to that advertiser’s web page. Except for the Jan/Feb 2006 issue of Escapees magazine, in which all ads are clickable, only the ads of advertisers who purchase “clickable ads” will be linked to the advertisers web page. • Search If you’ve used the CONTENTS links and the bookmarks and still haven’t found what you’re looking for, use the “binocular search” button on the top menu bar. Clicking on the “binocular search” will bring up a search box. Type in the word or phrase you’re trying to find and click search. The results will be a list of links to each mention of the word or phrase you’re seeking. Just click on any of the listed links to go to the related page.

Share your magazine Since you’ll have your own copy of the magazine stored on your computer, you can pass your hard copy along to someone you feel would be an excellent candidate for membership in the Escapees RV Club. When you do, remember to take advantage of the Lamplighter program.
