Lakeside RV Camping Offers Plenty of Family Fun

RV camping on the shores of one of America’s major recreational lakes offers plenty of fun for the whole family. Marine recreation areas typically offer shady RV campsites close to the water, hiking and biking trails, horseback riding, swimming beaches, boat ramps, fishing, boating and an array of water sports. While boat rentals of various kinds are typically available at lakefront recreation areas, boat owners can double their summer fun by towing or stowing their bicycles, boat, kayaks or jet skis behind their motorhome or travel trailer, hitched to a beefy towing truck.

If you plan to boat or fish, check the web for marina rules and fishing license requirements before you leave home. At many state and federal lakeside parks, children of a certain age are permitted to fish without a license. Some recreational areas may also ban the use of jet skis or restrict their use to certain age groups. Know the rules before you go so you and your family can enjoy the water once you arrive at your RV campground.
