William has an 1993 Honda Nighthawk, 750 cc motorcycle and he loves to ride. As soon as I get my knee replaced, I'll be back behind him on it. We are retired Army and love to read, travel and eat out. I sew, crochet and am new to quilting. (need help, just got an Esante Babylock embroidery machine and am way over my head there.)

Utah, Washington State near Mt.Ranier, and around Leavenworth (near Wenatchee WA).

Haven't found any yet!

Hello! My hubby and I are thinking of moving to Canada, British Columbia specifically, as a home base for full time Rving. We heard it's cheaper to live there, thus making our pension money go farther so we can do more fun things like see beautiful BC. We'd love any tips or advice from Canadian Rvers who know the ropes.

Hi Melinda
Did I tell you my husband Dan and I are LDS too. He was raised in the church and I was a convert. Two of our four children joined the church. We have not been very active for the last few years. My husband had a falling out with the bishop. How do you work church into your trips? Do you have a home ward? We have a coast to coast park here on the central coast. It is located in pismo beach. That would be so cool if you came out here. We could camp together.
My husband has a honda goldwing he wishes we could take with us when we travel.
About the knee, I have had several family members that has had it done. I will need one one day. I always throw it out. My son is 27 and he needs one, but he is waiting.
I have been so busy getting ready for our trip, so the computer has been off limits. The granddaughter has been here for the week and she went home tonight only to come back on
Friday for our trip. Oh yes she is going with us. Our vacation is from June 29-Aug 8th, but our plans changed a little bit. We have decided to stop in Kingman, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, Oklahoma City, OK,each one night, Muskogee, OK 4 days, Fairview TN, a couple of weeks, and Panama City, Florida 3 days depending on weather. Coming home we are winging it because we haven't made plans. Granddaughter wants to go see the men in the mountain, LOL. We are hoping to make it to Idaho to check on our house before returning to Calif. Have you stayed in any parks on our route?
My first quilts were baby quilts for each of my children, simple 9 patch. Then I made quillows for each of them. I have made a couple of wall hangings for the holidays. I sewed sydney a crib set.
I haven't done a lot of scrapping. When I was teaching I didn't have time to scrap. It seemed that I spent all my extra time on my curriculum. I have sorted pictures and collected supplies, like papers and stickers for different themes. Also, scissors, pens, templates, idea books and magazines.. I want to put a book together for each of my children. Today I actually bought a couple of clear under bed storage units so I can put supplies in them. I am hoping they will fit in the space under our bed. I have been looking at digital scrapbooking too. I am going to do a few pages and see how they turn out.
I sewed a lot when my children were young, but haven't sewn anything in a long time. I have a white serger that I loved. I whipped a tee shirt together in 15 minutes. My son even used it and made him a tee shirt when he was ten. I thought I would sew more for Sydney when she was born but the cost of fabric has gone up so much that it actually cost more to sew than buy. I love fat quarters! Especially Christmas prints. I have been collecting for a couple of years and I am going to make me a holiday quilt for my kingsize bed. No pattern just call it no rhyme or reason. Rotary cutters are great and selfhealing matts too. There is so much info on the internet.
We are going to start living in our unit in Dec if everything goes as planned and I get everything settled. We haven't decided what to do with our stuff. Store what we are keeping here or take it to Idaho in January.
Books! I am addicted to books. I am going to take some of my gardening books to read. A few of my must have cookbooks. My husband is limiting how many I can take. I know he won't let me take 50! Maybe a dozen. I have hundreds of childrens books that I will not get rid of, so they will go in storage. Too expensive to replace. My teaching supplies I am hanging onto until I know I do not have to go back to teaching.
Do you tole paint? I used to have a business called Totally Outrageous Wooden Things. My partner and I sold to 16 stores and two large schools. My husband cut and sanded all our wood pieces and we painted and decorated each piece. In 1998 I was diagnosed with cancer, and the smell of paint made me so sick I had to quit. I have not picked up a paint brush since, but I want to keep everything and start painting again.
Our separate bath is wonderful. Ours is a square room before you get into the bedroom. The toilet is in a separate doored room with the shower. My husband doesn't like it either. The sink is on the wall opposite. Full size. Tons of storage in both rooms.
I wish we had room for a washer. I hate going to laundry mats. They seem so dirty.
We still are fighting with the dealer for the title. It has been decided that the owners decided they didn't want to sell. They found out they could get more if they had traded it in towards their desiel pusher. So we had to get another temporary tag. Next step will be court. I don't believe in suing, but we have invested a lot of money in the unit and they sold it to us and now are having second thoughts. They even reported it stolen. We bought this in January and it is almost July, 6 months of headaches. I just want to wake up and have this over with, but I am sure God wants us to make sure the dealer doesn't rob anyone else.
Where are you rving these days. I called to reserve a space at a rv park in Arizona, and the lady laughed at me. She said around this time they have plenty of room. No reservation needed. Now OK was a different story, I had a hard time finding a spot. Our unit was to big!
I am so glad we have met. We have so much in common it's like we could be sisters LOL. If you ever get close to Mapleton My husband's brother is the chief of police there.
Well, I hope you are having a great summer, oh that's right it just started!
Stay safe on the road.
Lynne
P.S. How do you get your mail?

Hi Melinda
I like your choice of words. You are right, we need to think "Healthy lifestyle."
My husband is a diabetic in denial and we both come from families with diabetes.
I have passed the age that my mom became a diabetic and I am very careful with the things I eat. My biggest problem is portions. I have to remember that I do not need to eat the same amount of food as my husband. He is 6'4" and I am only 5'2."
I could live on the veggie soup. My husband, Dan, he's another story. I can hear him say, "Where is the beef?"
I retired from teaching right before Christmas 2006. I was a preschool teacher for 3-4 year olds. I couldn't teach and get ready for our move to full time rving. I am spending all my time downsizing. Boy, what a lot of stuff! It is so hard to decide what to keep and what to get rid of.
My husband wants to retire next year. We have been married for 36 years and we raised 4 children, three girls and one son. We have one 4 year old granddaughter who stays and travels with us a lot.
Two years ago we decided we didn't want or could we afford to live in Calif. My husband has a brother who is the chief of police of Mapleton, Utah. He lived in Springville at the time and we went there to look at property. Too expensive. We actually had lived in Idaho Falls, ID from 1973-1976, then after the flood in 1976 we moved to Rexburg/Hibbard and lived there until 1984 that was when we decided to move back to CA and be closer to our families.
We ended up buying a house in Rexburg and that will be our base when we leave CA. We have it rented until then to a very nice family who is actually building their own home down the street.
Our oldest daughter and son live in TN and two daughters live in CA. It is going to be very hard to move away from my GD. She is so special. She goes in for miner heart surgery May 17th to close a hole. She has been such a joy in our lives. We know she will be just fine.
We went to Mesa AZ and bought our retirement rig in Jan. It is a 2001 Alfa Ideal fifth wheel and a 2001 ford 250 to go with it. This purchase has been a nightmare. The dealership has been such con artists. They kept telling the owners that we couldn't get financing even after they had received financing and only offered them a portion of what we paid for it. So, they have refused to accept the funds and release the titles, and here we sit with our outfit and can not register it.
We finally retained an attorney in AZ to deal with it. So, hopefully it will be resolved soon. Our vacation will be here soon and we have plans to go visit his brother in Everett WA and another brother in Muskokee OK.
I love to read and can't wait to be able to read when I want to. Dan and I love to walk and visit historical places. That is our exercise of choice. What is your bean blaster? I have never heard of that.
I am sorry I didn't respond sooner I have been taking care of my mother in law and she just went home.

Hope to hear from you soon
