We decided to try the 2 nights, 3 days "Free" camping weekend deal that Thousand Trails is offering to 1st time visitors. We made reservations for the Morgan Hill, CA location. Upon receiving the confirmation letter, I noticed in the fine print on the back of the letter that the offer was actually for 3 nights and 4 days. I called back and they told me that the additional night could be added and that it wouldn't be a problem, just ask the park manager. Upon arriving at the park we again asked if we could stay an additonal night, the manager said in person to me, that it would not be a problem. Well guess what? as soon as we went through their sales presentation and we told them we could not afford the down payment on the membership at that time, they basically treated us like crap and told us that we would not be able to stay the extra day and kicked us out of the park. We were VERY upset that we would be treated so poorly after we said no. We were very interested in the membership and would have most likely purchased it once we were in a more comfortable financial situation, but because we were basically kicked out of their park as soon as we said no, we would NEVER purchase their membership in the future now. They have lost our business for life! I would not recommend thousand trails to anyone unless they like high pressure time share like sales tactics and rude people.

Hi Josh: That is a shame. My husband worked for Thousand Trails for ten years; it was how he got started in the campground business. I've always known them as a great company with beautiful parks. Perhaps you should let their home office know of your experience. It seems to me that their company policy is very against this sort of thing... Anne
