We are planning on heading for Texas in May and would like to hear some comments on campgrounds around Tyler or anywhere in that area. We plan on staying in the area for several weeks or months before heading on. Would like to find a camp ground with trees and fishing and of course TV reception or cable. Marilyn

Hi Marilyn: You might want to check out the Texas Campground Association web site - they've got nearly every Texas RV park listed, plus, some reviews... it's at www.texascampgrounds.com You can view our list of half price campgrounds here in this forum under Texas :) (Each of our parks' description can be found at the top of the Texas page, by clicking "full details in pdf." ) Hope that's helpful! Lake Hawkins Campground is your place. we stayed two nights last weekend for $24...how can you beat that? Beautiful, treed sites, a lake with perfect sand beach, etc. Can handle 45 ft. rigs. Just off hwy 80 north of Tyler.
