"We have stayed in 3 HC parks since we joined in June, and have enjoyed all our stays. Stayed at Blackhawk Valley in Rockford IL; Rush No More in Sturgis SD, Hazen Bay Recreation Area in ND.

We use HC in conjunction with our other memberships (Thousand Trails and RPI). As fulltimers on a limited budget, it is essential for us to minimize costs. There is no way we could RV if we had to pay full price for campgrounds." ~Jill Ferrer

Been to a great campground lately?  Is there one that could use improvement?  Let's talk about YOUR campground experiences here.

*** Please remember:  Many campgrounds are also members of our network.  They are here because they care what RVers want - so if you've had a bad experience, please do not use this forum to "bash" the campground - simply tell us what could be improved.  This will help campground operators serve you better.

My family and I stayed at Frontier Town in Ocean City, MD last summer. We had a bad experience. I had reserved our campsite a year in advance asking for one close to the water (bayside). When we arrived, our campsite was close to the water, but you couldn't see the water for the 12 foot high reeds between the campsite and the water. We arrived late in the afternoon, so by the time we got set up, it was time to light our campfire and settle in for the night. When we awoke the next morning, I commented to my daughter that the pollen count must really be high, because everything outside (chairs, tables, playpen, etc) was covered with small white things that I thought was pollen. Upon closer inspection, the small white things were little worms that were wiggling all over everything!! Gross!! We probably inhaled those little worms anytime we were outside. You could see them blowing in the wind! Yuck! The campground itself was nice, but too big! Everything fun to do was located at the front of the campground and all the campsites were toward the back! We will never go back again, because they had hidden charges that weren't explained to us when the reservation was made!Frown
