Yesterday i said that I would post something about my next, and probably my last, trip with my Scion xB and Teardrop.

I don't have everything planned yet but do know that this trip will involve more camping than my past trips have - the previous 5 trips with my Teardrops have been "travel trips" rather than "camping trips". This time I will be stopping for 1,2 or 3 weeks at a time and then traveling for 2-3 days, just the oposite of what I have done in the past. I have planned it that way to see if I truly want to sell my existing rig and get a Class B that I will fulltime or semi-fulltime in.

With all that said here is what i'm think of doing, all dates are best guesses:

1) Dec 1-12 camp in Carson City, NV

2) Dec 13-14 visit friends in Placerville, CA

3) Dec 15-18 travel to San Ignacio, Baja, Mexico

4) Dec 18 - Jan 4 camp in San Ignacio

5) Jan 5-6 travel to Algodones, Baja, Mexico

6) Jan 7-8 camp near Algodones (dentist appointment & research)

7) Jan 9-11 travel to Alamos, Sonora, Mexico

8) Jan 12-28 camp in Alamos

9) Jan 29-31 travel to Zacateca, Zacateca, Mexico

10) Feb 1-2 camp in Zacateca

11) Feb 3-4 travel to San Miguel de Allende, Guanajunto, Mexico

12) Feb 5-19 camp in S.Miguel

13) Feb 20-21 travel to Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico

14) Feb 22-23 Camp in Cuauhtemoc

15) Feb 24-25 travel to & camp in Nuevo Casa Grades,, Chihuahua, Mexico

16) Feb 26-27 trave to & camp in Bisbee, AZ

17) Feb 28 - Mar 2 vist cousins, last seen maybe 40-50 years ago

18) Mar 3- 10 travel to and camp in Pahrump, NV (prepare to fulltime)

19) March 11 travel to Reno (camp until rig is sold and buy Class B)

Charlotte,

You said:

"Have you traveled in Mexico  befor and do you go alone and do you always stay in parks ? I thought it was dangerous to go to Mexico."

I have been to Baja twice, Puerto Penasco many times and just across the border to Agua Prieta more times than I can remember.. Yes, almost all the time I have gone alone.

If you read or listen to what our media has to say then you have good reason to think Mexico is dangerous. If you go to this web site http://www.nationmaster.com and look for total crimes per capita you will find that the USA is #8 Mexico is #39; I have also lived in Bulgaria and Japan for more than 1 year each and the are #33 &34 on the list. I do not consider Mexico dangerous; do I pay atention to what is going on around me, YES! Do I spend a lot of time out on the street after dark, NO. For me the same thing is true where ever I live which includes here in the USA!

I wish I had your Class B! But, can't afford the deisel models at this point. Yes, diesel is plentiful in Mexico. Some years ago that was not true but some years ago it was also harder to find here in the USA.

Thanks for you note, I hope I have answered your questions.

Ed
